 Elf-Lord and high ranking member of the Eldar, Elrond established the refuge of Rivendell (Imladris) against the darkness of Sauron. Elrond fathered Arwen, and became the foster-father of Aragorn during the latter's wandering in the north.
The Fellowship consist of 9 individuals (Strider Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Frodo, Samwise, Merry, Pippin and finally Gandalf) who begin their journey across Middle Earth. Three films/movies were made of The Lord of the Rings, representing each book: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King (release date: Dec 17th). Literally thousands of various collectible merchandise/products available (DVD movie, soundtrack, video, poster, chess set, Risk board game and more).
